Hi My Sweetheart also known as Play Boy and Sweetheart / Shanghai Sweetheart is a 2009-2010 romantic-comedy series with Show Luo, Rainie Yang, Lee Wei and Maggie Wu. It has 14 episodes.

Xue Hai <Show Luo> was a certifiable dork when he first arrived in Hangzhou. After his schoolmate Bao Zhu <Rainie Yang> saved him from bullying, she became his first love. Then, a misunderstanding caused them to lose contact when she moved back to Taiwan. He thought she dumped him. So he transformed himself from a dork to a hunk in order to seek revenge. –DramaWiki

A dork turning into a hottie is always been interesting story.. Haha. I loved how the innocent Da Lang would always be so friendly to Bao Chu and how she slowly started to become nicer and nicer. I also liked their Pink Panther dance- it was really funny. Yes, indeed, weird things are funny. I really liked it when Xue Hai (sorry for continually changing names) was always so nice and kind to everyone; his outer appearance didn’t matter anymore because his inner character makes up for it. Later, when Bao Chu “leaves” Xue Hai, he decides to completely transform into a handsome man that everyone wants to date. And indeed he did become so much better looking.

I like the two main idols together, would like to see them together again in more dramas.. The chemistry is there, they can work well with each other and get the acting just right with no sense of forced acting or too over the top. Even with a cliche and corny drama, their emotions were realistic. The storyline may have been a tad bit random and dragged over episode 12 to 13, it still was a good drama all in all.

Thumbs-up for the soundtrack. 🙂

Hi My Sweetheart

I finished watching Dou Niu. Yao Bu Yao <also known as Bull Fighting / Free Style / Hooping Dulcinea> in just 3 nights. Since I soooo like Mike He, I give it a go.

Here’s the synopsis:

Yi Sheng Xue <Hebe Tian> is a tomboy who has a deep attachment on basketball. court on 13th Street. Every year, there is a battle between two rival schools to determine who controls the court for that year. When Shen Ruo He’s <Mike He> team loses to end their 9-year winning streak, Sheng Xue vows revenge against him. However, when she realizes that they lost because the other team used dirty tactics, she confronts them and tells them off. Here, she catches the attention of Ruo He, who describes her as a girl unlike any other he’s met. Then there’s another guy that loves Sheng Xue, her long-time childhood friend/bodyguard, Jin Zi Chong <Lee Wei>. When Sheng Xue tells him she sees Zi Chong only as a brother, Ruo He becomes more confident in confessing his feelings. By this time, Sheng Xue has also begun to like Ruo He, though she doesn’t quite understand her own feelings because she grew up without a mother and in a family full of boys. Things get complicated when Shen Guo Chen, Ruo He’s dad asks him to do all he can to buy the property owned by Sheng Xue’s family . Ruo He refuses, and is then set up with the daughter of some wealthy businesswoman, though he still loves Sheng Xue. Sheng Xue then takes matters into her own hands and tries to complete all the “impossible” tasks.

I already saw Hebe acting in Magical Love, The Rose and Reaching For The Stars. This is her first starring role. At first, her shouting and more shouting at the first episodes kind of annoyed me. She’s not only a singer, she can act, too.! And Mike He? OMG.. This is where I really fell for him.. lol

Is it just me or Lee Wei looks like Vanness Wu in this drama.. Haha.

I enjoyed it and it’s one of my fave dramas.. I love re-watching this when I’m with my mom cuz when Chopin’s Etude No. 3 in E plays, my mom will sing No Other Love.. 🙂 I love the soundtrack.
